My Education & Experience

I attended the University of Texas at Austin where I majored in English. I began my career teaching high school, but quickly realized my passion was for supporting others more personally and emotionally instead of academically. This realization led me to pursue a a PhD in Clinical Psychology, which I earned from Texas Tech University in 2005. During my training, I had the privilege of working with diverse clients of all ages in various settings, including a juvenile center, two inpatient hospitals, and several outpatient clinics. My own journey of self-discovery and healing, through years of therapy, has profoundly shaped my approach as a therapist. I am deeply honored to help others heal, grow, and create the lives they envision for themselves.

I took a break from my professional career to be a full-time parent and have been actively involved in leadership roles with community organizations such as MOMS Club and Girl Scouts since having my kids. These experiences have enriched my understanding of the diverse challenges parents and caregivers face and deepened my commitment to helping people heal from trauma. I am passionate about empowering individuals to build close, fulfilling relationships with the people who matter most to them.

When my oldest child was in high school, I updated my education with additional counseling courses, earned my Professional Counseling Associates license (LPC-Associate), and opened my private practice. I’m a life-long learner who finds joy in reading, attending classes and training, and continually seeking ways to enhance my personal growth and to improve the lives of my clients.

My husband and I have been married for 29 years, and we have three children, ages 14, 19, and 21. When I’m not working in my practice, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, gaming, and volunteering in the community.

As a therapist, my approach is grounded in both professional expertise and personal experience. I strive provide therapy that is research-based, empathic, and tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to provide a safe space for you to heal, find your voice, and reconnect with your sense of self. I want you to know that you have the right to live authentically, without feeling pressured to conform to toxic family dynamics or unhealthy relationship patterns. With my expertise and experience, I will support you in building resilience, fostering growth, and creating a fulfilling, meaningful life.

My Approach

I believe every person has inherent worth and the potential to heal. As an active and collaborative therapist, I create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences with respect, dignity, and compassion. I value diversity, justice, and ethical integrity, and I tailor therapy to your unique needs using a range of evidence-based approaches, including:

  • Attachment-Based & Emotion-Focused Therapy – Healing deep relational wounds

  • Trauma & Somatic Therapy – Addressing the mind-body connection in trauma recovery

  • Gibson’s Therapy for Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents – Navigating complex family dynamics

  • Gottman Method & Relational Life Therapy – Strengthening intimate relationships

  • Internal Family Systems & Family Systems Therapy – Understanding and healing inner and family conflicts

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Identifying and reshaping harmful thought patterns

  • Narcissistic Abuse Recovery - Finding peace and safety when living through or recovering from toxic dynamics

My clients often struggle with anxiety, grief, depression, self-doubt, and difficulty expressing their needs. They long for deep, authentic relationships but fear rejection, betrayal, or being seen as “too much.” You are wonderful just as you are - you have done exactly what you needed to do to survive this far. Therapy can help you feel safe and at peace within yourself, with others, and in your life. Together, we’ll work toward healing, resilience, and the confidence to help you create the life you deserve.
