Help for couples and individuals who want to heal painful patterns and build relationships that feel safer, healthier, and more connected

The Experiences That Shape Us Don't Have to Define Us

Two mature trees standing together with sunlight shining through the forest, symbolizing growth, resilience, and the experiences that shape us.

Perhaps you've spent years trying to be the dependable one. You show up for work, care for your family, and do everything you can to keep life moving forward, yet inside you feel anxious, disconnected, exhausted, or stuck in the same painful patterns. Maybe you find yourself repeating unhealthy relationship dynamics, struggling to set boundaries without guilt, carrying the effects of childhood trauma, or wondering why certain relationships leave you feeling emotionally unsafe. These patterns are often connected to the experiences and relationships that shaped you. Healing is possible, and you don't have to figure it out alone.

I help individuals and couples heal from painful experiences, understand the patterns that keep them feeling stuck, and create lives and relationships that feel safer, more connected, and more authentic. My work supports people navigating complex trauma, betrayal, narcissistic abuse, affairs, family wounds, anxiety, grief, and major life transitions.

How We Can Work Together

Couples Therapy

Relationships can become painful when trauma, betrayal, conflict, or emotional disconnection leave partners feeling stuck. Couples therapy can help you understand the patterns between you, rebuild trust, and create a more secure connection.

Using trauma-informed approaches including Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) I help couples move beyond repeated cycles of conflict and disconnection toward greater understanding, emotional safety, and connection.

Individual Therapy

Whether you're healing from trauma, anxiety, grief, family wounds, betrayal, or long-standing relationship patterns, individual therapy offers a space to understand your experiences, reconnect with yourself, and create meaningful change. Together, we can explore the experiences that shaped you, understand the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

Family Therapy

I work with adult children and parents, siblings, in-laws, etc. navigating emotionally immature family dynamics and relational wounds. Therapy can help create space for understanding, accountability, and exploring whether repair is possible when both people are willing to participate.

About Me

Hi, I’m Tiffany Savener, Ph.D., LPC-Associate, and I created Seek the Sun Psychotherapy to help people move beyond survival and begin building lives and relationships that feel emotionally safe, authentic, and connected.

My practice is grounded in attachment science, trauma research, and evidence-based approaches. I have specialized training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy including training in working with Affair Recovery and Trauma, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Relational Life Therapy (currently completing Level 1 training), and parts-informed approaches for complex trauma.

My work also incorporates specialized training in emotionally immature family systems, betrayal trauma, intimacy and relationship concerns, recovery from Narcissistic Abuse, and the relational patterns that shape how people connect with themselves and others.

I strive to create a space where clients feel understood rather than judged, challenged without shame, and supported as they work toward meaningful, lasting change.

My practice is sex-positive, LGBTQIA+-affirming, and welcoming of all relationship structures, identities, and backgrounds.
